Run For Your Life

Run For Your Life is a John Lennon composition (credited to Lennon-McCartney) from the 1965 record Rubber Soul.

It often figures on the list of least liked Beatles songs, and John Lennon himself considers it his worst song (together with 'It's Only Love').

The misogynistic text comes from an Elvis Presley song called "Baby let's play house" and led to the song being banned on several Canadian radios.

Lennon's text:

"Well I'd rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man
You better keep your head, little girl
Or I won't know where I am

Elvis Presley's text

Now listen to me, baby
Try to understand.
I'd rather see you dead, little girl,
Than to be with another man.
