The Beatles Live at the Swimming Baths in Leyton

After receiving their first silver disk for "Please Please Me" (the single), The Beatles went to perform at the Swimming Baths in Leyton, London.

Unfortunately the venue no longer exists, having been demolished and turned in to a supermarket (Tesco's).

The Baths were the scene of many great rock gigs (including Rolling Stones, Cilla Black, The Small Faces) and also the scene for memorable fights between Mods and Rockers.

Just read about it in a biography of a legendary British Hells Angel named Buttons – Buttons, the Making of a President, published in 1971.
